Located in the heart of Marrakech, the
Mamounia Hotel is one of mythic place of this city. Since 1923 when it first
opened, La Mamounia has attracted thousands of souls seeking luxury, calm and
voluptuousness... Today, this five stars palace is 90 years old and is still
the legend place of Marrakech.
The story begins in the XVIII century with
the Sultan Ben Abdellah. This one offers a wedding gift to his son Mamoun a
broad area ideally set against the walls of the old city. Two centuries later,
the shelter is transformed into a luxurious palace that is found very soon the
whole planet.
Writers, showbiz stars and statesmen have
stayed there since it opened in the 20s. Winston Churchill, British Prime
Minister, there was painting when it established its winter quarters. He
invited US President Franklin Roosevelt in 1943, saying it "is one of the
most beautiful places in the world." Legend says that General de Gaulle
has also spent a night at this time, and a bed to measure the great man would
have been crafted for the occasion. It will then be the turn of Nicole Kidman,
Kate Winslet or Sophie Marceau to experience the elegance of the place ... The
palace will not cease see a parade of celebrity generations.
With an architecture and decoration
inspired by the Moorish tradition, the palace in Marrakech, La Mamounia has
attracted a large number of historical figures and celebrities who have lived
wonderful moments.
More than a green oasis in the middle of
the city, the Park of 8 hectares of the legendary La Mamounia Hotel is a
legend. All fruit trees you can dream, flowers offering a balmy fragrance, olive
trees, come together naturally and are organized in a learned disorder. Bougainvillea,
amaranth agaves, Madagascar periwinkles, prickly pears, all overlaps and
intertwines up seasonal flowers that transform the appearance of these marvellous
gardens...
